Beskrivning / Case description:

The project is based on three different levels – society, organisational and individual. With the publication ‘When leisure leads to future’ we have addressed the need for society to get an understanding of the competencies you gain in the voluntary organisations. The publication also helps organisations and individuals in the process of describing the competencies obtained. That is connected to the publication ‘The Competency Guide’ which is directed towards young people (and other voluntary leaders) as a tool to put their non-formal competencies into words. Finally, publishing of ‘Talents to be reckoned with’ gives the voluntary organisations a toolbox and concrete examples of activities where they can set non-formal education and real competencies on the agenda. Throughout the project a lot of different actors have been involved. First in developing the ‘dictionary’ of competencies you gain in voluntary work in different organisations and on different levels. Second in the translation of the dictionary into a usable language for a lot of different target groups i.e. members, leaders, the educational system and the labour market. And finally different kinds of actors have been involved in providing examples from organisations, researchers and companies.
