Four Learning Seasons 2004 – 2006
Nordplus Neighbour programme
Nordic - Baltic - Northwest Russian Network for new and better local adult learning opportunities
The project has been granted support by the NCM Nordplus Neighbour programme. The project aims at promoting the active local civic society through improving, innovating and creating new adult learning possibilities locally and building the cooperation partnerships between the local actors: NGOs and their social partners (libraries, museums), the local authorities, other education institutions (schools, universities, vocational colleges, etc.).
The project participants are the local adult education NGOs, their social partners, AE organisers and planners locally from the 4 Nordic countries, 3 Baltic countries, and from Karelia, Leningrad and Pskov oblast, V.Novgorod and Kaliningrad in Northwest Russia.
20 Nordic, 20 baltic and 15 Russian participants are going to be involved in the networking during the period of 2 years. 2 participants from the same local area participate with the goal of strengthening the local partnership.
The project will contribute to the following effects:
1. Strengthen and profile the Nordic and Baltic lifelong learning arena, based on common values and offering reciprocal learning possibilities;
2. Increase and improve the quality of the adult learning possibilities locally in Northwest Russia and the Baltic states;
3. Create new or improve the access to learning locally by building partnerships between the municipalities and their institutions and the local NGOs, and exchanging the know-how between the Nordic and Baltic organisations;
4. Enhance further Nordic and Northwest Russia cooperation though the new contacts among organisations and common experience analyses;
5. Further develop the adult learning experience in Northwest Russia, that has been accumulated in the NCM "ALLA" project, and will be acquired during the "Four Learning Seasons Network" and disseminate it to the Kaliningrad area.
