Project Aim/Prosjektets målsetting
The purpose of the Nordic+ Senior Golden Examples -project was to collect existing knowledge of the methods and contents of teaching that the successful senior learning demands.
Working methods/Prosjektets arbeidsform
Collecting good practice examples from the Nordic countries on traning methods and content for senior citizens. Analyzing obstacles in participation. Therefore 45 seniors over 55 years of age were interviewed in each project partner country to find out their attitudes towards lifelong learning.
Results, products
Guides and recommendations to achieve good practice and quality content for senior citizens, including ways of attracting hard to reach senior learners.
As a result of this project new methods to increase the knowledge and skills of seniors were found as well as reasons for non-participation in training. Also as a result of this project a report was produced on the statistics concerning the training of seniors divided by countries and ages as well as collected recommendations, good practices and examples of the training of seniors (needs, aims, barriers etc. concerning participation).
