Baltic-Nordic seminar September 2009

The County Governor of Hordaland, Norway, has received a grant of 8000 Euro to organise a Baltic-Nordic seminar which takes place in Jöhvi, Estonia 23rd and 24th of September 2009. The initiative to this seminar was taken by the Nordic network of prison education.

The purpose of the Baltic-Nordic seminar is dissimination of the Nordic report "Education in Nordic Prisons. Prisoners' Educational Backgrounds, Preferences, and Motivation", to present the Estonian project and to get information concerning the Prison Service and prison education in the Baltic states
in order to develop and improve prison education further. Focus is also on the cooperation between decision makers and researchers. We would like to develop a better collaboration between the Baltic states and the Nordic countries on this area.
Nordic Network for Prison Education are co-organisers.
