Teacher Training in Europe: A Comparative Approach

While France in chairing the E.U. Council from July 1st through to December 31st, the standing Conference of the Directors of the French Colleges of Teacher Education will be hosting a Conference entitled « Teacher Training in Europe : a comparative approach », to be held in Paris, on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th Dec. 2008.

Rationale

The Conference « Teacher Training in Europe : a comparative approach » aims at fostering exchanges between teacher trainers, researchers, Directors of CTEs, Heads of schools and Higher Education Institutes, as well as policy-makers about the theme of upgrading the standards of teacher training in Europe.
In a comparative perspective this conference intends to provide, from national instances in context, food for thought, avenues for action and good practice case studies in order to upgrade the campus and continuous training of teachers to keep in pace with the evolution of both societies and pupils.
