Baltic Sea Region NGO Forum

The Baltic Sea region. What does it mean? For somebody it is sub-region of EU in the North of Europe, for somebody it represents region of high living standards and it is place of dream for living, for somebody it associates with wild and mysterious nature, where the sun sets into the sea, for somebody it represents several countries situated around the Baltic Sea, having its own culture, history and traditions, but at the same time having the same values and expectations – to be heard and to have rights in decision making, to enjoy equal opportunities and to have possibilities for personal development all life long, to live in secure and healthy environment.

From May 11-13, 2008, for two days 100 participants representing 11 countries around the Baltic Sea will gather at the Annual meeting – The Baltic Sea region NGO Forum “Citizens participation for sustainability in the Baltic Sea region” at this time in Latvia.

The Baltic Sea Region NGO Forum is meeting place for different cultures of the region, for establishing new contacts, to share practices and get fresh inspirations. Forum is the platform for expressing voice of civil society representatives towards supreme governing bodies.

The Forum will address following topics:
1. NGO sustainability
2. Climate change
3. Social inclusion and human rights
4. Lifelong learning
5. Cultural Diversity

Sista datum för anmälan: Registration deadline is 14th of April.
