Dear Reader
Innovation and learning are the key words in this issue of DialogWeb. These days, examples of innovative solutions can be seen everywhere.
Soon you can access the internet no matter where you are by computer, mobile phone or other hi-tech equipment. The internet is becoming the largest learning arena in the world. However, innovation is much more than just new technologies. New methods and structures, developing pedagogies, and creative relation-building are other aspects of innovation. This is what this month’s DialogWeb seeks to illustrate.
An interview introduces us to Bill Parson, originally from England, who is today known as one of the most colourful persons in adult learning in Finland. An Estonian article tells us that learning in itself is an innovation in Estonia (N.B: article to be published in week 12). Traditional functions are becoming virtual in the Åland islands, while in Sweden web-based learning communities are spreading in popularity. In Denmark, artists contribute towards increasing development and innovation at workplaces. In Iceland, resources are invested in learning centres, and in Norway innovative methods are used in the pursuit for gender equality at the highest academic level.
Happy reading!
